Meade County
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Please set your trash on the curb by 6:00 am on your pickup day.
- Weekly pickup is limited to an average of five 32-gallon containers or bags. Other than our carts, if a container is larger than 32-gallons, trash must be bagged to allow WTS to pull the bags from the container. We do not dump barrels, but will remove the bagged trash from the barrel.
- Per Meade County Ordinance, the property owner of all occupied residences will be billed for trash service. Service and billing can be suspended for addresses that are vacant for at least 30 days, but the customer must notify WTS in advance.
- Your first invoice is mailed the day of your first pickup and is due in 30 days. A $5.00 late fee will be added if payment is not received by the due date.
- Subsequent invoices will be sent on a quarterly basis. Payment is due in 30 days. A $5.00 late fee will be added if payment is not received by the due date.
- Payments may be mailed to us or paid at three Meade County Bank locations: 2175 By-Pass Rd in Brandenburg, inside Kroger's at River Ridge Plaza in Brandenburg, and 104 North Dixie in Muldraugh. We also accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover credit and debit cards at no additional charge. Payments are accepted over the phone or online through our online bill pay service. We can also arrange to automatically charge your debit or credit card on a quarterly basis.
- We cannot accept yard waste, tires, auto batteries, construction debris, ashes, liquids, paint or hazardous materials. Grass clippings, tree limbs, automobile parts, furniture and appliances are NOT household waste. A bulk item (small appliance, tv, etc) must be smaller than 36" in all directions.
- Larger items and recycle items can be taken to the Meade County Recycle Center at no charge if your account is paid. Contact the MCRC at 270-422-2868 for information.
- Meade County has several recycle containers located throughout the county to accept cardboard, glass, paper, etc. Contact the Meade County Solid Waste office at 270-422-2868 for container location and accepted items information.
